Anybody who’s watched the nerdy and sometimes annoying Sheldon on Big Bang Theory AND has any knowledge of Asperger’s syndrome has definitely made some connections.

Mayim Bialik, who plays Sheldon’s girlfriend on the show has a few opinions on the matter, and as a neuroscientist who took a break from the screen at UCLA, has some great theories on why no one is quick to label Sheldon just yet…She also has some great theories on everybody else’s eccentricities, including Leonard and Stuart.

So says Simon Baron-Cohen and a group of colleagues at the University of Cambridge after concluding a study that included approximately 700,000 people in the United Kingdom.

NeuroPointDX Debuts Blood Test For Autism

The world of testing for disease has expanded more than ever.

While autism is thought to originate from a variety of causes, one company, NeuroPointDX, is assessing whether the processing of certain amino acids may be linked to those on the spectrum.

This week, the company debuted what is recognized as the first blood test for autism.

“Atypical” Renewed For Third Season On Netflix (Video)

The series chronicles the life of a teenager with Asperger’s named Sam, played by Keir Gilchrist, as he begins to encounter the world of girls.
