Netflix has renewed Atypical for a third season.

The series chronicles the life of a teenager with Asperger’s named Sam, played by Keir Gilchrist, as he begins to encounter the world of girls.

But he may be more interested in his therapist girl.

There will be 10 30-minute episodes for season three.

The show’s producers enlisted the guidance of Michelle Dean, who received a doctorate from UCLA and worked with the UCLA Center for Autism and Research and Treatment, to portray the most accurate description of someone on the spectrum.

It may have been a consultation worth investing in, as Sam is not only easy to like, but reflects traits of both Asperger and neurotypical teenagers. Atypical lacks extreme stereotypes, but instead places the right amount of nuances to let the audience know he’s not “typical.”

The trailer for the series can be viewed above.
