Comedian and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Robert White was a guest on Loose Women, where he spoke about those with Asperger’s living up to their full potential.

Known for raw humor such as calling female celebrities “men” and “strippers,” White said there were more difficulties than growing up as the only gay man in his village.

White also claims he has “cured” his autism–through years of CBT, or cognitive based therapy.

CBT is a technique used for a variety of conditions, including phobias and anxiety. Users of CBT learn tactics to modify their behavior to situations versus letting the situation lead to more unpleasant feelings or reactions.

“I’ve had 13 years of full on CBT for the most tricky situations and now I’m glad to say I’ve cured autism!”

White’s appearance on Loose Women was part of the show’s celebration of National Autism Hour, where retailers modify their stores to make things easier for those on the spectrum. This may include dimming the lights or turning down overhead music.

Unlike some children, there was nothing in White’s education that indicated he may have had any issues, as he performed to standards. He feels that this shouldn’t be all and that parents and children should push further because those on the spectrum, “shouldn’t be just getting by they should be getting to their full potential.”
