Summer is not over yet, and there’s still plenty of time to take a road trip with some of your gals.

Road trips are fun for the destinations, but they’re also fun for the leisure time spent in the hotel. A great book can make the trip more fun and Business Insider has a best-selling book featuring an Asperger analyst that’s guaranteed fun for anyone who likes romance, road trips and mathematical formulas.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang features a 30-something Asperger female who works with numbers all day to analyze customer purchases. She decides it’s time to perform some different types of calculations–how to create the perfect kiss for maximum results.

She gets a man for the sole purpose of practicing kissing and makes a resolution that there should be nothing more in these transactions. But as anyone who’s ever made a resolution knows…

From Amazon:

“It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice—with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.”

This sounds interesting on all sorts of levels. It does provide a gender role reversal in that the female is the one looking to a professional for physical intimacy advice–something usually sought by males. Aspergers have been known to be less interested in following norms based on gender.

This may make for a great fantasy novel you can take with you on the road, the beach, the hotel or…that awful cubicle where you spend too many hours creating quotients, spreadsheets, graphs and everything else that’s not nearly as exciting as an algebraic expression about lip smooching.
