An interesting article was found on the impact of workload, stress and how we manage our emotions in the face of an ever increasingly fast world.

Elise Ronan at The Times of Israel spurt out a few lines about this in a post that addressed her recent pile of “things” on her desk and how she chose to deal with others’ responses to her sometimes lack of response.

Her simple statement: She counters them with kindness.

Elise is a certified transition coach for Aspergers in college and a mother of two sons with autism. What seemed to be a response to why she hadn’t been blogging as much was actually a plethora of positive sayings or mantras that anyone can apply to their life.

Some of the most interesting ones were:
1. I have chosen kindness…No, it does not mean that I turn the other cheek. It does not mean you live as a doormat for someone else.
2. Living well is always the best revenge they say.
3. Negativity begets negativity.

Not sure if Elise is reciting these in the mirror every morning (probably not), but her thoughts sure make a great transition to create some positive slogans for Aspergers. Some experts advise those on the spectrum to create such sayings in regards to their social life, family and work, so why not follow in Elise’s steps and create powerful phrases that relate to Asperger’s?

1. There are people everywhere willing to make friends. Make effort to search for them (for those feeling socially isolated).
2. I have chosen to take risks socially. I will not stay in because my syndrome makes me feel awkward.
3. Negativity begets a lot of things (like missing out on life because of Asperger’s).

Just a few ideas for an Asperger mantra. Can you think of a few?
